Miyazaki Wagyu comes from the Miyazaki prefecture, located on the island of Kyushu in southwestern Japan. The breed of cattle used to produce this premium beef is called Kuroge Washu, also known as Japanese Black.

The history of Miyazaki Wagyu can be traced back to the Meiji period in Japan (1868-1912), when cattle were first imported from Europe to improve the domestic breeds. The Japanese government later banned imports of foreign cattle in the 1920s in an effort to preserve and improve the domestic breeds.

Since then, Japanese farmers have worked tirelessly to improve the genetics and quality of their cattle through careful breeding and feeding. Miyazaki Wagyu is the result of decades of selective breeding and feeding practices that have resulted in a premium beef product that is renowned for its exceptional marbling and flavor.

Today, Miyazaki Wagyu is recognized as one of the highest quality types of beef in the world, sought after by chefs and foodies alike for its incredible flavor and texture. And thanks to its rich history and commitment to quality, Miyazaki A5 Wagyu remains a true culinary treasure that is enjoyed by people around the globe.
